I went down 1 grade in AP Envi Sci, 1 grade in an Elective, and 2 down in Calc (B to a D) :

Should I worry? I dont want to mail the school and send up warning flags until I know for sure. I'm going to get tutored for Calc to try and avoid the D but it's looking almost inevitable. This marking period is extremely hard and I am getting an F most likely, and I am probably going to fail the final because of how hard everything is. I am not slacking at all which makes things that much harder to bear with, because I know I am trying hard in my classes. Any responses would be appreciated.

One D? I wouldn’t worry about it. However, it is slightly concerning that you’re struggling in calculus when you’re giving your full effort, for in college, course difficulty will only increase.

I am struggling in Calculus and it is concerning, but for some reason, this marking period has amped so much up in difficulty. I don’t want to blame my teacher for this and look like a cop-out, but the average midterm grade was a 41% and most kids in my class get 40’s-50’s on each test. I wouldn’t want to mail my university and blame it on the teacher to make myself look better

It appears as if your teacher can be described as being various four-letter words. That really is a tough situation, but if you manage to get past the class without failing then you should be fine.

There is no way I can fail for the year. At the WORST, I will get a D. That’s the only thing I’m worried about. Getting a C will take lots of work but I’m willing to do it. In the case though that I get a D, do you recommend mailing the school and informing them of the situation? Should I stop being so worrisome?

You have the right idea. E-Mail the school with the info.

@Erin’sDad - should I wait until I get my transcript?

one D should not be a problem usually it’s a bunch of D’s that will get kids rescinded. I mean it usually only happens to one or two kids a year per school and I’m sure that there are students with worse final GPA’s than a 3.1 going to this state school.
