I took my first SAT in May earlier this year, and received a composite score of 1880. Writing 680 (Essay 8), Math 630, Reading 570. Overall I was satisfied with my first SAT scores, especially after my abysmal PSATs which were in the 150s and later 160s. I was pretty annoyed with how my CR score turned out, however. I've always been a reading/writing person, and was surprised to have gotten so many comprehension questions wrong - if I'd performed as well as I had on the other sections, I could've theoretically made 2000. Just another 120 points, right? Another 20-30 from an improved essay and then I can certainly at least halve the number of points lost on reading. I'm not so sure now, though:

I took the October 2010 SAT to see if I can achieve that. I don't remember the specifics of many of my answers, but from the unofficial answer keys assembled on this forum my current guesses are:

Writing: Essay probably won't surpass 10. I mentioned how colleges were originally more well-rounded and artistically/philosophically centered before they dissociated with the church and became more occupational. My examples were pretty crap - I mentioned Edgar Allan Poe and Van Gogh. I didn't talk much about how these fit in with public school, though.

Multiple choice was pretty easy - I had the experimental in Writing which kind of annoys me as it's my best area, but among the scored sections I believe to have gotten no more than four wrong.

Mathematics: I don't know what to make of the mathematics sections. Definitely no more than one wrong for the grid-ins, and then maybe 2 or 3 incorrect on the multiple choice segments. Mostly due to functions. :X

Reading: My archenemy, the critical reading section, seemed far easier than last time. Or at the very least, I actually seemed conscientious of when I was doing something wrong. At worst, 3 wrong per section.

Am I doomed? :P
