I slacked a lot in community college and finished with a 3.3gpa. WHen I transfer to a university and get a really high gpa 3.8-4.0 will dental schools think highly of that and see that I can handle upper division university classes and ahve improved a lot? or will they just add my university and community college gpa together and be all like okay his gpa is just average now lets see his dat.
Assuming you are still in the biology or related field ( vs. some on non STEM major) in your upper division work, depending on the dental school, I think yes. In your first two years, there were core courses, i.e., biology, chemistry, physics and calculus, that are very important in getting into dental school. Assuming you did not get a C or below in any of these classes, and you did extremely well in your upper division work, I think you have a chance.
Also, what is done in your 1st 2 years is done and can’t be changed. Just work hard and do your best going forward.
