Will it look bad if I take the SAT twice?

Ok here is my dilemma.
i am currently a junior and i have only been prepping for the SAT for about a week. i have it this upcoming weekend. my highest practice test score was a 1980 and i have only done two practice tests so far.
i want to raise my score to at least a 2100. i am going to be taking the subject tests in june. but also, there is the may test in which i can take the SAT. but i want to have a back-up date in case i score really bad on my SAT.
if i took it in may that would give me more prep time and i would only be taking it once. so if i take it only in may, i can't retake it because i am applying to a college early decision next year, and the june date i cannot take it because i will be taking the subject tests..
my overall question-
will it look ok if i score low (around 1900) in MARCH and then take it again to raise my score to over 2000 in MAY? do colleges only consider the highest score or what?
or would it look better if i took it in MAY with the chance i scored bad and could not retake it?

what's a safer option? (p.s. i've gotten a 30 on the ACT and i'm planning to take it 2-3 more times)
colleges im considering are small liberal arts like whitman and middlebury..

thank you!

Most people take the SAT twice. Also, most colleges consider the highest score from each section. And 1900 is not low. Hush. You already have a good ACT score and the thing is that if you take your normal SAT more than you need to--you can't take subject tests. The positive thing is that if you take the ACT with writing most times, you don't need SAT IIs.

it won't, as long as your score is raising.
u can take three times, but don't exceed that amount, then it will be bad.

if 2100 is your goal, stop there, do EAs and volunteer works.

ok, good to know. but the UC's require 2 subject tests. wait?? more than i need to ? what do you mean? i NEED those subject tests..will i be able to do subject tests if i take the sat twice?

Normally if you take the SAT in May/October, you can take Subject tests in either November or June. I don't know about UCs but I know for many places, if you submit ACT, no subject tests are required.

ok i will take my subject tests in june
