Will James Madison University still consider me?

All through high school I have taken honors and then my junior year I took all honors and 2 APs and this year I am taking all honors and 4 APs.

Point is I started off high school strong (All A's and B's my Freshmen and Sophomore year) Then my junior year I had a super hard time in my advanced Chemistry and Trig classes and then worrying about maintaining C's at least in those while worrying about every other class was impossible. So I ended the year with 1 A, 2 B pluses, 3 C pluses, and a D plus (my Trig final pushed me one point out of the C range) but if you just look at my semester grades I had A's and B's and a C in trig. I know it sounds weird but I screwed up on exams big time. And I studied too. I just spent so much time studying for Trig and Chem, I didn't do enough everywhere else. Honestly I just can't grasp math. I've never been able to. And if you've ever taken Trig or Chemistry you'll understand why I was having such a hard time.

There's nothing I can do about those grades now. I was too late for summer school when I received my final grades so all I could do is improve.

If I get all A's this semester can I still be a viable candidate. I'm especially looking at James Madison University.

My GPA is a 3.4 and I'm I'm the top 25% of my class as of now. That will go up after this semester.

I have a lot of good EC's. I have well over 100 hours of community service. I have a strong essay according to the people I've shown it to. I've won awards. MY SAT scores are over an 1800/2400.

I just had a rough year. Nothing trautmatic happened. It was just hard all the way around. I had to learn to balance school and EC's in a way I never have had to before, but I've got it all under control now and I'm making straight A's in even harder classes.

So I don’t know a ton about JMU, so I will speak with the perspective of somebody with a more general knowledge/looked up JMU’s stats…

In terms of their stats they are not so competitive that it is the worst thing in the world, but it defiantly will have hurt your chances. There is no nice way to say it, your grades were really ugly, you had more Cs and Ds then As and Bs. Do well next semester, though your odds have been substantially decreased. Would you be able to retake a class over the summer and get the grade changed on your transcript?

I tried. I recieved my finals too late to take a summer course.
