Will missing a major prerequisite severely impact transfer chances?

Basically, I will be entering my 2nd year of CCC in June after I start summer classes. After this year, I’ll be missing one course that is specified in major prerequisites for the UCs Biology majors I am interested in (UCI, UCSB, UCSD the primary three, with UCI TAG). As it is a Biology class, will this eliminate any chances of a transfer? Worse comes worse, I can just TAG for UCI, but I really don’t want to enroll for another term for just one class.

This brings me to another question. When do courses have to be completed by? Say I apply for the respective UC’s Spring 2019 term (in reference to this: https://admissions.ucsd.edu/transfer/), can I take the one course and have it completed by the time the term starts? Ideally, I would like to start ASAP and not have to wait an extra 3 months to begin courses. I am admittedly not too familiar with how UC terms/semesters work so any and all info would be great on that as well!

Thanks.

talk to your xfer counselor or to the UC rep that visits your campus

https://admissions.ucsd.edu/transfer/transfer-major-preparation.html lists the minimum required courses for each major at UCSD to transfer. Use http://www.assist.org to find equivalent courses at community colleges.

The ASSIST pages for other UCs should also indicate which courses are required versus recommended. Obviously, completing all of the required courses is necessary. Completing as many recommended ones as possible could help in admission, and reduce the amount of “catch up” you need to do after transfer.
