Well I’m accepted to U at Buffalo for the fall semester and (hopefully) will transferring after doing two semesters at my local cc. The only problem is, like most colleges they want to see my final transcripts for the semester I’m currently enrolled in at my cc. And those grades are not looking good as my first semester (2.8 gpa). I’m currently taking rigorous classes like calc 2, chem 2, engineering computations, history elective and a gym. You can imagine the classes that I’m doing bad in haha… it’s 5 weeks left and I’ve decided to drop the chem 2 and engineering computations… in the middle of the semester I hit a road block where I had my book bag stolen, lost a good friend and fell into a whirlpool of depression that I somehow let affect my focus and motivation. I plan on retaking those courses that I plan to drop in the fall if I do not get my admissions rejected, is there anything I can do to come back from this?
Bump?
Study hard and maintain focus. Try to do something you actually like doing like yoga, tennis, Netflix, music…etc. it helps me and motivational pic as my wallpaper on my phone is also helpful.
Don’t worry 2.8 isn’t as bad as I’ve seen people at UB do.
Go to the counseling center and discuss your situation. Perhaps they can write a letter that will explain why your grades dropped (emotional issues) and that this was a reaction to a series of incidents that occurred and is not truly reflective of your abilities. Plus, the counseling can help you deal with the loss of your friend, for which I am sorry.
