Will my admission get rescinded?

I called to the admissions office at UCR to see if my D in my stats class would affect me but it would. I don’t understand its not part of my A-G requirements and I’ve read of plenty of people getting accepted to UCR here even though they have a D or even worse an F can someone explain please

Stats is a Math course so it is listed as an A-G course under (c). Yes, some applicants could have D’s and F’s on their transcripts, but they also could have retaken the class or used course verification by passing a higher level course. UCR’s provisional admission should state you need to maintain a weighted GPA of 3.0 (no weighting for a D) and grades of C or higher in your a-g courses.
You can check your HS course list to see if Stats is listed as an a-g course using this link:

Did UCR give you an alternative if you happen to end the semester with a D? Can you retake the course during the summer prior to starting Fall quarter? Most schools are willing to work with you but you need to also try to give them alternatives in making up the grade.

I already completed the 3 years of recommended math though. I just took the class because my counselor said it was recommended. The admissions office said that I could drop the class but there not sure if it would affect my admission. People from a program I’m in that helps with getting you into college have told me the D shouldn’t affect because it’s not a class I need. But I’m so paranoid :frowning:

UCR will only give you vague answers since 1) one you have not dropped the class or 2) you have not received the final grade of D yet. It does not matter that you have fulfilled the Math requirement, you have chosen to take another a-g course that you should pass with a C or higher. Most likely, you will be fine and UCR will not rescind, but that is a chance you have to take. You need to do everything in your power to make sure you can get that grade up to a C-. Ask your teacher for extra credit, find a tutor, form a study group to help study for your final etc… I am sure your teacher and counselor are aware of what is at stake along with the program that has helped you through the process, but this is why colleges offer a provisional admission contract, to make sure Seniors do not slack off. Unfortunately, UCR is the final word.
Reach out to UCR and if you do get a D offer to retake the class.

@mamba777 AP Stats (or really any stats class) is a math class, and is therefore a part of your A-G requirements. Also, people getting accepted is different than people who want to go. People who got accepted with D’s/F’s probably got them in the first three years of high school, BEFORE applying and accepting an offer from a college. You should have known from the start that UC’s have strict requirements for grades when you accept an offer. To put it simply: you’re screwed.
