I applied and was deferred from Stanford EA. I applied as a 4.0 but I got two B’s first semester. I doubt I’ll get in, but let’s say - hypothetically speaking - that I get in to Stanford or Harvard or USC or Vanderbilt. This semester, my grades are really bad. I am most likely going to finish with an A, two B’s, two C’s, and an F in Calculus. Will these schools revoke my admission if I were to be accepted, after receiving my second semester grades?
With an F? Yes, there’s a good chance it will happen. A C or two is fine, a D will cause some problems. You’ll have to explain very well why this happened.
Sorry, but I agree with @FZ1998 that an F is quite likely to imperil your admissions status. Do whatever you can to get that grade up if at all possible, @fgcollegehopeful
I will also agree. The F in Calculus will not be overlooked or forgiven. Even a D for that matter.
I’m in a grey area about this too. Can C’s get your admission revoked?
@humeng From what I’ve been told, no. Straight Cs? Yes, maybe. A few? Probably not.
How about a single D?
@humeng: For many schools, a D would be a reason for rescinding an acceptance.
Rule of thumb: No D’s or F’s Senior year period…
