So, I was admitted to CMU for vocal performances (College of Fine Arts) with about a 3.8 (weighted) GPA. For vocal performance, about 80% of your admittance is based on your audition and the review of your actual grades and stats and extracurriculars count for the remaining 20% (admissions people were very up front about that and used those exact numbers... and besides, how else would I have gotten into Carnegie Mellon with a 3.8 and 2010 SAT scores?)
The problem is the I just got my 3rd quarter grades back and my GPA has dropped down to a 3.27 with 2 As, 1 A-, a C+, a C-, and a D+. Pretty scary.
I'd say that the school wants me, I'm upper-middle class and they gave me $2,000 for the Carnegie Scholarship and when we showed them that I was getting more from other schools they topped all of them and gave me a total of $12,500 in scholarship money. I'm still really worried about my grades though, as I know CMU is a top notch school and doesn't mess around. Does anyone think my admission will be rescinded? Should I be up front about it and call the admissions office or should I try to slide by under the radar? I'm not required to send second semester grades, does admissions go around calling everyone's school? I'm very confused.

For the love of god… I’ve said it 100 times and I’ll say it again: CMU ad-com has explicitly stated that you are allowed to fail one class, and past that you get a warning/rescinding. YOU ARE FINE. Enjoy the rest of your year.
