Will my AP Scores prevent me from getting into the Ivys?

Hello,
I’ve taken AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP Language and Composition, AP World and APUSH. However, in all of them, I’ve scored a 4. I know this is not a terrible score but I know it isn’t great. Will my mediocre scores hurt my chances of getting in to the Ivys, specifically Yale?

Calling a score of 4 “mediocre” is both disingenuous and disconcerting. Your scores will not affect on your admissions outcome. However, your “Woe is me” attitude, if it comes out in your essays, will do you no favors.

A 4 is by no means “mediocre” by any measure. No, a 4 won’t hurt your chances of getting in anywhere. I’m attending an Ivy with two 4s and one 5 in the three APs I took sophomore and junior year.

A 4 is far above passing, so no, it is not mediocre in the slightest. Also, you don’t even have to report scores if you don’t want to, so APs have no play in your admissions outcome.

You don’t have to report your AP scores (which as other have said, are fine anyway).

AP scores really only come into affect AFTER you have been accepted, when you are making a schedule.
