Will My Low SAT Subject Test Scores Affect My Chances at Scripps?

Hey guys. I really need some reassurance that I haven't just gotten myself rejected.

I used one of my free score reports to send my subject test scores to Scripps. I really should have not sent them because I didn't feel good about the Lit test. I decided to send them. I guess I hoped they would be decent.

My question is: Since they're optional, is there a chance that Scripps will ignore them?

Scripps is my dream school. I'm expecting that my ACT score will be in the 27-29 range. I also am going to apply ED 1.

I desperately need advice!

Looking at page 4 of their CDS

http://www.scrippscollege.edu/about/pdf/CDS_2011-2012.pdf

the 25/75 percentile ranges for ACT is 29 and 32 for matriculating freshmen.

Therefore, it’s going to be a reach. Good luck however.

T26E4: Thanks for your reply. My practice tests have been a 28. Hopefully I can pull it up one more point.

Are you saying that my subject test scores won’t be considered? I really hope that’s the case!

Applying ED is only appropriate if you are certain that you can afford to attend.

UCBalumnus: Is that just because I wouldn’t get to compare FA offers or are there other reasons?

Basically, it is due to not being able to compare financial aid offers if you get accepted ED.

ucbalumnus: Thanks. So, you don’t think the subject test scores are too much of a concern?

Not familiar enough with Scripps admissions to say anything about that.

Be sure to run Scripps’ net price calculator.

Chelsea

You have to contact the school. I’ve read (on CC) that some schools claim that when they choose the best between SAT and ACT that the only certain information shows up on the screen. Other schools say anything is accessable. I don’t know what Scripps does.

Zephyr15: I’ll do that. I’m so worried. Should I email or call the admissions office?
