So my school reranks at the middle of the year, and I'm currently 2 spots away from being in the top 10 %. I have pretty high SAT and ACT scores and ECs, and I will be applying to a few top schools. For the first quarter, my weighted gpa was over 100. Is there a good chance that I will be able to move into the top 10 % by the middle of the year?

How would we know? It depends on what your other classmates did. Ask your GC.

Do you have one of those old “magic eight ball” toys?

If a couple of kids come down with a case of “senioritis” and slack off, it is possible for you to move up, I suppose.

It’s possible. Who is ahead of you. Ate they taking a light loader are they still hitting the books hard. My d is in a similar situation. If she passes just 4 students, or the class increases and the newbies are all behind her she qualifies for another $5000 in merit aid. She is doing what she needs to do and she is hoping some ranked harder are not as committed. But, they should know how important maintaining their rank is. Remember if your class grows from transfers who rank below you that will help also. Is it a big class or small size class?
