Will my SAT score get cancelled and if it does will it affect my chances at all?

So, heres what happened. I had completed the last section on my sat, and was sitting doing nothing until I became bored. To make things less boring, I went back to a previous section on the test which I felt I might have done poorly on, and read the passage which I felt I struggled with the most. The test answer sheet was no where near the page where I was and was actually tucked away in the front of the test book somewhere. Apparently, doing this is not allowed, and the test proctor saw me doing so. Once the section time had elapsed and everyone was dismissed, he told me to stay with him and that we had to file a report. When I asked him whether or no my scores would be cancelled, he said something to the effect of "I haven't had to deal with something like this before, but probably not". Will my scores be cancelled?I am very worried about this as currently, I am talking with a couple upper academic schools, namely holy cross, and am wondering whether or not my test being invalidated would have any implications as to whether or not these schools officially offer me soon, and one of them said they would granted that my two score was 1150, which it will be as long as my scores aren't cancelled. One more thing- how long will it take for me to find out what happens? Anyway, if someone could answer my questions I would greatly appreciate it.

It may be helpful for u to look at this information in the link below. This details the procedure for questioning scores and misconduct. What did the report say? Did proctor note you hadn’t changed any answers and u were merely reading out of boredom? My guess is you will know there is an issue if when scores come back they state yours are under administrative review. If u were my kid, I’d wonder “should we just cancel scores and retake at next opportunity or should we take our chances and see what happens?” Not sure what the right way to proceed is. Hope it all works out.

Ok thank you, and I didn’t see what the proctor actually wrote, he just needed me to provide him with my name. I did tell him that I didn’t change any answers and was just reading because I was bored, he said “I know, but I have to file a report anyway”, so based off of this I think that the report he made probably isn’t too negative

And it seems like from a quick reading, they look at multiple things (erasures, etc) before canceling scores and there will be some dialog with you prior to making that decision. Again best of luck.

Thanks a lot.

Just an update, it didn’t get cancelled and I scored a 1970 with a 720 in reading!

Congrats! I was hoping you’d let us know what happened. What a relief!

Thanks a lot!
