So currently, my highest score that I got on a practice SAT test from the blue book was a 1770. Please note that just at the end of August when I took my first practice test, I got a 1300. I have showed major improvements but my score is to hit a 2000 within 19 days. Would it seem possible for me to achieve this? I take a practice test every Saturday or Sunday and study one hour minimum each other day. I really need that 2000. What do you guys think?
Studying two hours a week? I dont think it will happen. Ten hours a week, much more likely.
Two hours a week? Where did you get that idea? I study for 6 days, one hour a day minimum. On some days, it’s more than two hours so yeah up to 10 hours a week is what I do.
It’s unlikely you will increase that much without putting more effort. 2 hours per day was enough for me. You need to know what is good for you.
What do you do when you’re studying?
I watch some bootcamp videos and tactics from reasonprep.
When u take the practice tests and miss a question, do u read the explanation on how to answer/solve that question? Do u go back and try to answer/solve the same question again?
What sections are u struggling w? CR? Language? Math?
Math & Language can be coached in relatively short time. The CR skills typically take years to build.
Are u finishing the test in the allotted time, w time to spare to go back & check some answers? Do u need to work on time budgeting?
I think I watched some of the boot camp videos when I first started but you really should stop. You only have 17 days to study before the test so the most effective way to prepare now is to take the tests (those made by CB) and review your incorrect answers. Don’t do whole tests in a day but try 3 sections of math and review your answers carefully then check your score (same with CR & Writing).
I recommend you go on the pwnthesat site and read his math blog posts if you have any gaps there and go on thecriticalreader blog and read her SAT grammar and critical reading blog to help you with those (even if you think you have no gaps here).
Right now, I’m over a 610 in Math but I would say my weakest would have to be CR. I also need some help on Grammar because I get 7s on my essays and my score for Grammar is typically 560. I finish all of my stuff on time now but before, that used to be the opposite. Math is highest, then Grammar, and finally, CR.
