Im taking the Dec subject tests and scores should be out on the 23rd. For UC, SAT scores are due the 31st; if I send my score report as soon as scores are released, will they get to UC in time?

If I remember correctly the SAT does have a “rush” delivery option but it will be very expensive and even then it is doubtful if they live up to their word. You’re going to be taking a gamble here.

Great, then why does UC say we can take the Dec SAT if it is a gamble
?

You can take the SAT in Dec, and they will send it to the UCs like stated above. However, I heard that if you take the test in December, then the UCs wouldn’t look at you application until January. Also they would review your application with more scrutiny.

I am in the same position as you in all aspects, as I plan on taking a science subject test in December, but have a lot inexperience in physics and chemistry, as i took these classes over a year ago.

I would also be applying as an engineering major to UCLA and UCB as well, but don’t know if I should just not take the subject tests because of what i said in the previous paragraphs. In addition, the UCs are waiting for the scores that are going to be sent, which means that you have to score highly on them because if you scored poorly and didn’t submit the scores, then it could be poorly reflected on the applicant.

Moreover, if one was to simply submit a math test and no science (even though both are recommended), then they might view this as suspicious or a potential low score in the science area.

Good luck in your decision however :)
