Will old non transferable grades affect gpa?

Hey guys I'm new just a quick question. Is your transferable GPA affected by older non transferable classes? I went to school back in 2005 got a D and an F(didn't drop it), also 3 W's from 2005. None of these were transferable or classes related to my major. Also, my high school transcripts of 2003 showed a 2.7 gpa.

I have returned to school back in 2012, and really want to go to a good UC school. My major right now is Communications, and want to minor in History. According to my IGETC and my major pre-req's so far, it looks like I will finish with a transferable 3.75. I will also be finishing with an AA in Economics with the Marketing option, before I transfer. I would like to double major but no UC has a marketing major for the school I'm applying. I also have extensive Managerial experience in the workplace and currently a Project Manager. (Not sure if that backround helps on app)

I'm trying to get into Berkley, UC Davis, UCLA or UCSD. Do you guys think I will have a chance? I've talked to a counselor, but it was in a 10 min quick session and she said only transferable GPA matters.. I'm not sure on that though.

Oops, can mods move this to UC subforum.

Nontransferable classes don’t matter at all and they don’t affect your UC transferable GPA whatsoever. High school GPA doesn’t matter at all either if you want to apply as a junior transfer, which I assume you do. I think you have a chance. Good luck!

Also, your managerial experience will probably look very good on the application if you want to major in something business-related, which you seem to.
