Will one B in senior year first quarter significantly hurt?

Hi, I’m a senior who has only gotten As throughout high school. However, I’m ending AP Calc this quarter with a B. The class is just really hard and I keep making dumb mistakes, but my perfect test scores (ACT & Math Level 2) indicate that I’m strong in math. I applied to an HYP school SCEA and intend on applying to a bunch of other reach schools RD. How badly is this going to hurt? Thanks.

It won’t hurt you. Everyone knows that is a difficult class. You’ve got an excellent transcript. It won’t bring down your GPA enough to tip the needle, even at top schools. Keep giving it your best effort though. Good luck!

I was going to say the same thing. My son is an IB Diploma student and is currently seeing a psychiatrist due to anxiety and perfectionism. He has had straight A’s throughout IB but thinks he doesn’t work hard enough. He is currently taking IB HL2 math, which is incredibly difficult. He currently has an 87 and an 85 in IB HL2 Biology. We have to believe that this is not going to affect him getting in to college.
