Hi so I’m a junior right now and I plan on applying for plme as well as ed. In the case that I get rejected from plme, will it be harder to get into brown for regular Ed?? Thanks

No, it won’t. The way that PLME admission works is that you are first admitted/deferred/rejected from Brown, and if you’re admitted for Brown, then they send your information over to the PLME office. It’s a separate process.

The only way I have felt it “hurts your chances” is if via some part of your application, Brown gets the impression that you are really only interested in going to Brown if you are accepted into PLME. (although I have seen students accepted to Brown and not to PLME who met that profile. As I had guessed, the student(s) did not go to Brown.) If you really are not that interested in the undergraduate experience at Brown, then in my opinion, one should really not be applying to PLME! Sounds like that would not apply to you.

I think bruno14 is right on with his post from what I’ve heard of PLME.

Ok thanks. Brown is my top choice and plme is my far reach goal. I just didn’t want to hurt my chances for getting into brown.

**Her post.
