Will retaking my SAT's help me get into my dream college?

The thing is that my dream school is NYU Stern and because I am an incoming senior I’m having trouble deciding if I should retake my SAT’s, as I’m probably going to apply ED 1 or ED 2.

I currently have a 3.5 GPA and a 2270 superscore. There’s not much I can do about the GPA but I did take on extremely rigorous courses (my weighted is pretty high). Is there any point in maybe retaking the SAT’s to bump my superscore to a 2300?
Also would it be better to try and raise my grades the first half of senior year and apply ED 2 to make up for my low GPA? or no?

Thanks in advance and I will chance you back

I would recommend not retaking the SATs as a 30 point increase in your superscore would not help all that much, if at all. Its not worth it. A slight increase probably will not change a rejection to an acceptance. I would focus more on extracurriculars and getting the GPA up. Also, are you taking any summer classes to help boost GPA?
If you look at the mean and median HS GPA and SAT http://www.stern.nyu.edu/programs-admissions/undergraduate/stern-advantage/profile your SAT scores seem fine, but your GPA is a bit lacking. That being said, you should try raising your GPA senior year and applying ED 2. Hope that helps!

I would focus on your GPA. At a certain point, small increases in SAT scores become negligible.

Ok thanks  That makes sense. If I apply ED 2 and try to get all A’s the first half of senior year do I have a shot? (I’m taking all honors/aps senior year if that means anything)

I think yes. Honestly, all A’s can only help! Good luck!
