So...I did really bad 1st semester of my senior year. I got a D in AP Calculus. I can't say it out loud. It even hurts to type it. Anyway, I was wondering whether or not I should send my 3rd quarter grades to UC colleges (UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCR) if I improve my grade in that class. How much weight do colleges put in 3rd quarter grades? Considering I go from a D (first semester) to a B or an A (third quarter)?

UCs don't even look at your senior grades unless you're a borderline so you should be fine.
Just make sure your GPA is high enough so that you won't get your acceptance rescinded.

The impact of 3rd quarter grades will be minimal if anything. Most schools will have made their decisions by middle/late March. If you're not satisfied with your semester grades, maybe you should contact the schools and offer a valid explanation or be mature and tell them how senioritis got you and how you're going to improve next semester.
