I'm a junior, and my dream school is USC. I took a summer physics course online to bypass taking it during the year, and here is my schedule instead:
AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science, AP US history, AP English 3, AP Music Theory, Orchestra, AP Statistics

So will not taking any science courses this year harm my application? I will have a full four years of science credit when I graduate though (taking AP Biology next year). Please help!!! I'm so indecisive. Taking AP environmental science instead of Statistics would ruin my schedule in terms of teachers and other factors, but is it worth it? I'm planning to major in business, but I think this might affect my general admission into USC. Or does it not matter because I'm applying to the business school?

I think its fine since you took it over the summer. It’s ok if you don’t have one every year as long as you graduate with 4 credits.

It’s fine. You have a full schedule and hit all the important points with rigor.

It’s perfectly fine. You have a schedule that is rigorous enough.

thank you very much for your kind help!

thank you very much for your time and help everyone! it’s so great to be introduced in a community that’s so supportive.

Do your four science courses include at least each of biology, chemistry, and physics? (They do not all have to be advanced or AP level.)

Ucbalumnus, yes. I have taken honors biology and honors chemistry (the highest offered in my 9-10 school) and I took physics online this summer (which gives me credit). I’m planning to take AP biology and AP environmental science in senior year. so would it be okay to skip taking a science course this year?

My son only took 3 years of science in high school. Because of scheduling issues, he never even took chemistry. He did take AP Physics senior year. His schedule was extremely challenging with other AP courses. He was accepted at an Ivy and several most selective small liberal arts colleges. Your schedule looks very rigorous and you also took physics over the summer. You should be perfectly fine. Take what you are interested in…with the best teacher.
Furthermore, USC’s website recommends 2 years of natural science, so you should be fine.

With all three of biology, chemistry, and physics within five total, you should be fine.

THANK YOU! this was definitely very comforting and exactly the thing I needed to hear!! thank you for taking the time to look it up for me- it is so greatly appreciated.
