Will taking a TA period look bad?

I’m a junior this year and I’m taking AP Calculus AB, AP Mandarin, Honors Spanish 4, Honors English 3, AP US History, Physics, and I recently switched out Physiology to be an assistant in the counseling office. This period is right in the middle of the day, and I can spend it mostly doing homework (unless there are things to be filed, etc.) My grades so far have been good (3.9 unweighted/4.1 weighted) and I have a few extracurriculars that I am heavily involved in. My test scores are decent (34 ACT) but I really worry about my GPA which is why I switched out of Physiology.

I’m worried that the TA period will look lazy/idle when I theoretically could be taking another class to challenge my courseload. I make the final decision of whether or not to switch classes next week- what should I do?

I think your courseload is challenging enough without a different class since you are taking 5 honors/AP classes plus physics. If you don’t think you can get good grades if you take another class, just stay with the TA period, unless there’s another easier class you are interested in.
