Just curious if the reputation of high school makes a difference during admission? I'm international so I don't know the situation in US, but GPA can be very different between schools in my country. Thank you!

I’m not sure how it is for international schools, but if it’s similar to how it works for american schools, then they will look at your grades in the context of the reputation of your high school. that’s why adcoms read applications by geographic areas, so that they become more familiar with the schools in the area and can understand where an applicant is coming from with their application. So I wouldn’t worry about your school’s reputation, just make sure you are making the most of the resources given to you :)

The problem you may have is the individual adcom reading your transcript/application may not be all that familiar with your particular school, which is why test scores often become important for international applicants, they are a level playing field.

If you have a GC who is able to place your school in context, that would help tremendously, as well as if your school has placed other graduates at the school you’re applying to, or your school is just well known here, e.g. has an international reputation. Ivies and other large universities that get lots of applications are more likely to be familiar with your school, obscure small LACs, less so.
