Hello everybody, I'm an Asian student and I wanna go do graduate school in the US. However, after the tragic event at Virginia Tech, I am not really sure if it is going to have an affect on the Asian students' chances in getting admitted in the current or next admission cycle.
By Asian students, I mean the countries in the far east, not specifically Korea.
Thank you for ur view.

I'm sure it wont.

That would be absurd...

I cannot even imagine that it would. I don't think there is any sane person who thinks that the Va. Tech tragedy happened because the gunman was Korean. The tragedy occurred because the shooter was seriously mentally ill and was able to purchase a handgun.

I went to Virginia Tech and I assure you there are no bad sentiments there about asians, even after the incident.

Thank you everyone. I heard this from some people, and was quite worried about it, but now im pretty sure it won't have any effect.
