Will there also be DHS rejection letters?

Just bleh? Intelligent argument.

Tulane just isn’t as good an institution? Based on your vast experience? Numerous hours spent at different universities? Intimate knowledge of the faculties at these schools? Never mind. You are entitled to your opinion, no matter how uninformed.

Sorry you feel you were personally attacked, question, as that didnt happen. But you believe it did, and that is your issue. You came to the TU thread to slam TU. Now move along. And if you want an answer, I think their answer is NO. Good luck at one of the other schools.

@Fallenchemist
Based on an opinion formulated from a US News, SAT scores, visit to the area (the campus was a plus, the surroundings not so much), friends that goes there now, the lack of a response about the scholarship, the high default cost, a poorly ranked business school, lack of new industry in surrounding area…

It’s the best I could do. But hey, at least the app was free.

@Jym626
“You were suspended from school as a junior for using foul languange and you want to know why schools aren’t showering you with more acceptances and accolades? Huh?? Sounds like you will be happier at USC (known as the University of Spoiled Children to many).”

Ha your right. I completely misinterpreted what you were saying. I suppose I can only admire your loyalty to the school…loyalty goes far and justifies a lot of things. All other schools at least graced me with a response; if only a school as “highly-regarded” in your eyes would do the same.

First, if that was an apology, apology accepted. What did you think the post said? How did you read it?

And no one disagrees that it would have been nice to send out “no luck” letters. No one is disagreeing with you. It was your cocky, arrogant, entitled attitude that rubbed readers here the wrong way.

You have no idea what schools I do or do not consider “highly regarded”. You like USC, fine. If you are a NMF they will give you a nice scholarship too. Fine. They may or may not be any less expensive, when push comes to shove, than TU, but if you think you will fit in there better, then by all means, go there.

I read your post as it is - an attack upon USC and its applicants, an attack upon my character based on a suspension.

As for Tulane, it’s not just about being nice or not nice. For some applicants, this error is a critical error that could influence their decisions and opinions about the school. In retrospect, Fallenchemist makes one great point: applicants cannot truly understand the mechanics of a school without attendance. As such, all I can base it on is the very few experiences I have - one “small” thing like this could make a big difference.

This will be my last post in this thread. It is now clear to me than you two are more focused on attacking who I am rather than examining Tulane’s handling of several DHS applications. Feel free to continue the flaming, but do not expect a response.

LOL!! You admit you totally misread and misunderstood my post (repeat: You were WRONG- you MISUNDERSTOOD, but didnt ask for clarification, instead attacked), I accepted your apology (such as it was) and then you go out swinging, hurling insults as you depart? Too funny. Don’t let the door hit you in the rear as you go.

There is a slight downward pull due to guaranteed admission for in state students with a 28 ACT or 1870 SAT. [Tulane Admission: Louisiana Applicants](http://admission.tulane.edu/apply/louisiana.php) Tulane, though private, does this to help Louisiana students even though it has no legal obligation to do so the way UVA, UMichigan, UNC, and UT-Austin do.

Two of your other examples ACT and SAT:
Case WR entering class average (29 and 1310)
UNC entering class average (28 and 1305)
vs
Tulane entering class average (29 and 1340)

So you see where I’m confused by your examples. Only Wash U stands out.
I was never in the Navy, so forgive me, but I must also be confused on what the phrase “blown out of the water” means. :slight_smile: Honestly though, one of the reasons TU makes the Deans Honor scholarship so time consuming is to weed out some people. Actually by making it take longer to do, they create LESS work for admissions folk. Best of luck wherever you end up.

Given the amount of time people put into scholarship projects, I agree TU and many other institutions need to be better (and quicker) with the notifications, no matter what the decision is.

As an FYI, in case you care about business schools in general I’ve copied a previous post of mine that includes links about how highly regarded the b-school actually is for certain fields. And again, best of luck.
