or will it only be freshmen??

There are a lot more freshmen than sophomores in the dorms, and most sophomores live in the on-campus apartments instead. But you might run into a few sophomores living in the residence halls. You might also meet junior transfer students who are staying in the Transfer Hall.

do you think i can still apply for an on-campus apartment??

Yeah, you can. Go here: Home and click “Click here to submit a campus apartment application” on the right side of the page. You’ll probably be shifted into a waiting list and there’s no guarantee you’d get housing, but fill out the application ASAP and call Housing if you have any questions.

I’m a sophomore moving into Lothian :D

simply put, the lazy sophomores will live in the dorms

why do you refer to them as ‘lazy’??

dorms are a matter of convenience. It’s close to campus, food is provided, etc. Basically everything is there for you. When you’re not living in dorms, you have to cook yourself, take out the garbage yourself, pay for electricity, etc. I highly doubt anyone wants to pay the exorbitant fees, unless said individual is wealthy, so I say the individual is lazy. And there’s really no “I like living in the dorm” excuse either. Trust me.

uhm, i had to take out an extra loan in order to be able to dorm again & i would’ve rented an apartment if i would’ve had someone to do it with!

The dorms are wayyyyy different than an apartment close to school. I’ve heard it’s so hard to cook and clean for yourself that some students end up dying or dropping out of school from the stress. It’s just that difficult. Other than living in an apartment and not in the dorms, I can’t think of anything that is harder in life.

Honestly, the majority of sophomores that will be living in the dorm probably have some sort of on-campus job that requires them to live there. RAs, people who work in the RSO, Resnet workers, PCs, etc. And the other sophomores live there because they have no where else to go and no one wants to live at Grand Marc. I’ve never heard of a sophomore living in the dorms because they couldn’t part ways with the dining halls or someone else taking out the trash.

well i know how to cook decently & how to clean my place good (: I don’t have a job but i wished i did…i looked at scotjobs but there isn’t one that fits w/me specially since i don’t have a car :/

For some reason my mom forced me to dorm again, even after I told her it’s cheaper to pay rent -__-
