Will these math competition scores help me or hurt me???

I have decided that I will be most likely applying Harvard SCEA next year. On that note, I am wondering if these AMC/AIME scores I recently received are worth putting down on my app or whether these scores will actually hurt me. Keep in mind, I feel that I am a little more slanted to the humanities.

AMC 12B: 111.5
AIME II: 5

Any thoughts??? Thanks in advance.:)

Well I guess any AMC 12 score >100 can't hurt/AIME score!=0. But AIME 5 is on the low side to really make a substantial difference. If you're slanted towards the humanities, go that route. Play with your strengths.

Actually, that AIME score is better than the AMC score. A good AMC score would be 120/130+ while a good AIME score would be 3+ (just ballpark figures)

Put it. There's no such thing as a score 'hurting' someone, it only lessens appeal, and in your case it shows more that you're well-rounded even though you're into humanities. No use withholding information.

Alright sounds good!!!:) Hanging around these boards tends to make you delusional sometimes with regards to downnplaying anything less than perfection. So, I apologize if I displayed an air of arrogance or self-promotion on this thread because those were not my true intentions.

Good luck to all seniors waiting on those decisions from Harvard this Friday!!!

I would put down the scores. There is nothing wrong with being well rounded; it just generally takes something very strong to get into Harvard.

5 is pretty decent on the AIME.

In my opinion, a good score on the AMC 12 is 125+

For it to really count for something, it'd be good to have around 132, though.

Also, a 9-11 on the AIME would really count for something.

Haha if you put the above two scores together, you'd probably make USAMO...which would definitely count for something!

haha wow, I barely can break 100 on the AMC (I've done it once having taken it 9th through 11th grade, lol). You're all really quite impressive :)
