Will these subject test scores hurt me? (UCs)

I automatically sent my December scores and I got a 640 on Biology M and a 720 on Math Lvl 2. I am applying for computer science for all the UC’s. I’m most worried about my biology score, and I have heard that if your score is bad, they won’t count it against you since they are only optional/recommended. Is that true? My gpa and act are good btw

Those are not bad scores, about 40th and 50th percentile. Remember those scores compete with other students applying to most selectives, so it is expected you would see a drop from your SAT.

Yea Biology is a tad low but you are giving it your best shot. My son got into Beerkley with a lower math II score than yours GL.

I think you should be fine. These scores are only additional information and are only meant to add positively to your application
