I am applying for Early Action at MSU. The deadline is october 12th. I have sent my ACT scores electronically from the ACT website and my SAT score electronically for collegeboard.com.

I am done with my essay and filling out the application form for MSU but I have not yet submitted it due to lack of getting revisions. I plan on sending it in on the 28th or 29th of September though.

I just asked my teachers for letters of recommendation last week and I told them I would give them two weeks to write them for me. Two weeks means they won't be done until about the 8th of October. They said they would give them back to me so I could mail it to MSU. Is that too late for having the letters of recommendation sent in?

Also is there a way to have my teachers electronically send my letters of recommendation directly to MSU online so MSU will recieve them instantly?

So basically what I'm asking is if I send my application in on the 28th or 29th and my letters in by the 8th (mail) will the school recieve all of this before the 12th?

If not what should I do to fix this problem and make SURE I am able to get all my stuff to MSU on time.

Sorry for bad grammar I typed this in a rush.

Early action?

Can you show me where MSU offers that? To the best of my knowledge, no such thing exists.

MSU does not offer EA, but if you apply before November 1st, you’ll have a better chance at receiving scholarship funds. Don’t worry about a deadline- just focus on getting your app in early. It will take MSU up to 3-4 wks to process your entire application before they start reviewing it. For example, I submitted my app at the end of October, and the admissions office didn’t receive all of my application materials until mid-December. The day after they received all of the application materials, a decision was made.

Early action deadline: 12-OCT

College will notify student of early action by: 16-NOV

haha so is this wrong? I am so confused now.

^ It’s wrong. CB’s own data seems to contradict itself:

The MSU website says absolutely nothing about EA. They only use rolling admissions with a priority deadline of Nov 1st for scholarships. Sometimes people get letters that say “apply by x date and you’ll get a decision by x date” but it’s only for some people- not the general application pool.

Over the years, I’ve just learned to flatly not trust collegeboard.

Oh alright. So by October 8th I will have sent everything to MSU. Would this be considered early enough for a good chance?
