Will they rescind my acceptance?

I was accepted into NC State! Yay!

BUT, I am still currently at a community college and I have had some rough situations this semester. Unfortunately, some of these issues have impacted my semester grades.

Java: C
American Government: A
Differential Equations: D
Statics: D

A month or two into the semester, I changed my degree plan from computer science to statistics so half these classes aren't even going to apply to my statistics degree. I'm working very hard on trying to raise these grades but with the holidays coming up, I'm working close to overtime at my current job.

Will NC State rescind acceptance?

You took statics as a comp sci major? Why would you take that unless you are strictly engineering. Off topic forgive me

how do you know you got in?

I’m in the same boat as you except my grades are A C- C D+

I really hope they don’t revoke my admission. Can anybody shed some light on this topic specific to NCSU? It would be greatly appreciated.

According to NC State’s acceptance letter:

“Final acceptance is contingent on your maintaining a level of academic performance that is equal to or better than your previous academic record.”

This is scaring me the most since my grades have declined since I first applied (All A’s and B’s to what I posted up there). I’m not sure if this means that I have to maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher (transfer business school requirement) or have overall good grades no matter what.

Based on the NC State transfer admissions website:

“GPAs are calculated based on all transferable-types of courses attempted. Courses repeated at previous institutions are calculated with the original grades earned. We will exclude the two lowest grades below a C when calculating the overall cumulative GPA from all colleges attended outside of NC State University.”

This means that, for me, my C- and D+ would not count towards the 3.0 GPA I need in order to remain in the business school; however, I have no idea if in order to keep your acceptance you have to remain above the GPA set for the college or have overall good grades. My GPA would still be over the 3.0 required for the business school, but in general my grades have severely declined since applying (went from all A’s and B’s to those listed above).
