Will they see it?

The first time I took the SAT, I got an 800 in math, but only got in the 600s for the other two sections for a total of 2110. A few days ago I took the SAT again and feel I improved my overall score by about 150 points. The problem is, however, I missed one or two math questions, probably bringing my math score down to about 770 +/-10.

I'm applying to lots of engineering schools, and most of them superscore, so I'm not too worried. However, UC schools do not superscore, and I'm worried that they'll only look at my 770 in math because it was part of my best single sitting, even though math is more important for admission into engineering programs. What I'm wondering is if admissions staff of schools that don't superscore will still consider that 800 since it's so relevant to my major.

No big deal, just wondering.

Colleges always try to give you the benefit of the doubt. I think they will certainly recognize that you got an 800 on the math section the first time you took it and weigh that more heavily than the 770. But I doubt that 30 points on the SAT would be the difference between being accepted and not, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much. =D Good luck.

You can also take the Math II subject test, and if you do well on that, that would further demonstrate your strength in math

Well, there are some colleges and universities look at the total score but some they just look at each part. The University of Washington rejected me because of my SAT score. 300 each. I felt so bad.
