I am taking AP Chemistry, World History, English, Calculus, Physics 12, Chemistry 12, and IB Biology. I want to either be doctor or engineer and am in grade 11. I am in canadian school and my grades are around 95% overall average. I have two plans, if I don’t be doctor, I will drop IB Biology next year and only do one year of IB Biology which will give me credits on transcript since the first year of IB Biology is equal to grade 12 and is of value therefore. I will replace it with a more rigorous courseload that is several physics, maths, and engineering courses from my local university in grade 12 as part of a dual-enrollment. If I want to be doctor, I will still drop it and take university level biology course as well as organic chemistry and physics which is harder than my current schedule. I hate how the IB Courses are really restricted and doing both university courses and high school courses doesn’t correlate so I would just like to take the university course instead. I am getting good grades and will take around 5 uni courses. I also have 750+ in 4 SAT 2 subject tests
My main concern is dropping IB Biology which I will have to
If you’re dropping it for a more rigorous course load, then it would actually help you.
But if you were dropping it for a low level elective, then it would hurt you.
Sorry, but I got quite confused by your post so I can’t really say for sure which applies to you, but it seems like you’re replacing IB Bio for a harder course - so it would help (if that is the case)
ok thanks
