Canadian universities Admission questions

Hey everyone

I'm a Canadian living outside Canada and I will be applying to universities soon , I plan on applying to a Life Science degree (and then to Med school later on)

My school follows the IB programme and we're only allowed to choose 2 sciences and in my case these would be Biology and Chemistry. This means I won't be able to take Physics.

The last Physics course I took was IGCSE Physics (my school follows the British system until Gr. 11 and then IB for Gr. 12)

I was wondering how hard are Physics courses in university and am I going to struggle with Physics because I didn't take an advanced course in it (such as IB Physics) because I know it's a prequisite for Med. school

I heard that U of T actually recommends Senior High School Physics ?

First year physics isn’t terribly hard, and you could probably get by without senior physics if you spend more time learning the concepts. If you’re aiming for medical school, you generally want a full course load, so I would suggest not using your IB credits. That way, you can retake biology and chemistry, and use your free time (don’t have to study as much for bio and chem since you’ve taken them already) for physics and your other subjects!
