I had a few crappy teachers this semester, and I might end up with 2-3 B's first semester of senior year. Will this shoot my chances of getting in? I've gotten almost all A's the rest of high school.

The B's would be in AP Bio, AP Stats, and AP Physics C.

Eeeef I dunno. From a purely objective point of view, it would look like you just stopped caring though. Try to not get the Bs, but explain them if you do (not by blaming your teachers though).

The 2-3 B’s wont be your make or break point. They are not all academic based. I’m sure they realize that over time, it is natural for everyone to get “lazy” sometimes and especially senior year of high school. If your essays, recs, tests, and previous grades showed that you could exceed at Duke, then you will be ok. However, make sure you do everything you can so you can tell yourself you really gave it your all. You can always send another essay if there are unsaid words, you can keep in touch with your admissions counselor. Hell, you can even drop Guttentag a voicemail. Just sayin’

they’re B’s. not C’s, but duke is a very competitive school (comparable to ivies). i myself have 2-3 B’s in AP classes. i do not know what to think. but i’m just gonna write my heart out and hope something good happens.
