I am a CC transfer student and got accepted into UC Berkeley. Unfortunately I was just made aware by an admissions officer that I entered an A for a French 1A that I took a few years ago instead of entering a B I actually received. Is this a strong reason for them to revoke my admission?
Just email admissions explaining you made a mistake in your grade entry. No one is perfect and mistakes are made. Much better if you had caught it instead of the admissions officer.
How did an admissions officer see a discrepancy? Did you send a transcript already?
Yes. I sent the transcripts already. I hadn’t even noticed the mistake until she pointed it out. I’m terrified this will look bad on my character. I really don’t know how that happened because I reviewed my application several times.
Hi OP!
I’m actually in somewhat the same situation with you, if not worse!
Also got admitted to UCB, I started to arrange my Cal Central and order transcripts from all my schools. I just realized literally three hours ago that UCB requested a transcript from a college I had attended a year ago. I had only taken one course there and I only attended two classes. I thought I had dropped the class after deciding it is not for me, turned out I did not properly drop it and the school issued me a NP grade.
Now I am so scared. I didn’t even know they requested a transcript from this school until three hours ago (I thought it was for another school). At first I was like “how do I even have academic record from this school since I dropped the class”, it is not until I logged into my portal and viewed my transcript did I realize a NP grade has been issued.
Honestly I barely remember taking the class since I was only there twice.
After I found out this transcript is requested I ordered a transcript to be sent to UCB immediately and I emailed my admission officer about my situation.
I hope mercy will be granted and that they can understand it is not my intention to withhold information from them and that my admission would not be affected.
Anyhow that is my current situation. Did you hear back anything from your admission officer since then?
Hi there!
I’m sorry to hear about your situation. I emailed my advisor too asking for an update and I haven’t heard back from it. How did you find out they requested a transcript? And please let me know what happened with your situation please! Best of luck!
@lessa
I have not heard anything back yet
I did send a Academic Update form about my situation and I hope in that way I’ll hear back quicker. Last time I sent an update I heard back within three days.
I found out they requested a transcript through cal central. I thought it was for another school because the name of the two schools looked really similar.
I hope this will not affect my admission since it is a NP grade and it does not affect GPA, and I also explained my situation - I really didn’t think a academic record would have ever occurred through this school since I dropped out of the class.
Best of luck to you too and let me know if anything happen to your situation! You most likely will hear back before I do since you emailed your admission officer earlier.
