Transfer Rescind?

Hello CC members,
I am writing as an admitted math major from CC to Berkeley. I was recently informed that because I took an “essential skills”, Spanish course P/NP my last semester, I may have my admission rescinded. My terms of admission apparently stated that I needed to earn a C- or better, and I did not realize I needed an actual letter grade. I am attempting to have this grade changed to a letter grade, since I did in fact pass the course. I otherwise have a 4.0 GPA.
If this P grade indeed means my application must be reviewed by a committee to decide whether to have my admission rescinded or not (as my admission officer said it would), what can I expect? Has anyone been through something like this before?
This seems unjust to me to be entirely honest, as the P suggests that I earned a C- or better anyways. I have already committed much of my resources to this opportunity, and am feeling troubled, as if the UC doesn’t care about their students beyond a number on a piece of paper, especially compared to other universities I’ve interacted with. Needless to say, I hope that I can still attend.
Thank you for your time and experience to anyone who may offer some input.

To be clear, I am a transfer admit.

I’m not sure if this will help, but see if you can go to the professor of the Spanish class and ask (in writing) what grade you would have gotten had you not taken the course for P/NP. Then turn this documentation into admissions.

There are many cases of Berkeley students who unknowingly took a class for P/NP that is used to declare a major. Theoretically this automatically disqualifies them from the major, but appeals usually turn towards the direction that I mentioned in the first paragraph.

Since it’s a Spanish class, it’s remotely possible also that Berkeley may ask (or you make a request) to take a proficiency test to show your proficiency for the class that you took.

Thank you for the response. I will look into these possibilities.
