So here's my plan:
Summer Semester (2017): Intro to Comp Sci
Discrete Math
Fall Semester (2017): Advanced Programming C and C++
Spring Semester (2018): Object Oriented C++
Assembly Language Programming/ Computer Organization
Program Design and Data Structures
There is no other way I can rearrange this because they are prerequisites of each other.
(I have arranged to only take those three CS classes in the Spring to not overwhelm myself.)
Backstory: I’m a freshman (second semester) at a California CC. Have an overall 4.0. If it helps, I’m Hispanic and female.
Short story, I decided to major in CS right after spring semester started (making it too late to sign up for an intro to CS class urggg). I am very sure it is what I want to pursue. I’m also going to join a STEM related club.
Questions:
-
Will UC Davis be look down upon the fact that I’ll only have half of my computer science classes done by the time they look at my application in the Fall? ? ?
(Although I will have completed my Calculus and Chemistry series which may give them insight as to my mathematical competency.) -
How competitive is UC Davis for Computer Science right now?
