heeelp, ucd transfer

Currently a freshman. I'm planning on transferring to UC Davis at Spring of 2015 for a Computer science BS. major. Now the problem that I'm having is that due to my math classes I'll only be done with Calc 3 and I'll be missing Math 2B(Calc 4 isn't on the pre-req list), which is on the major requirements. Now I'm worried that I'll be rejected from Davis if I don't finish that class. What are the chances of getting rejected?(assuming that I'm going to get a good GPA)

And also lets say that I do transfer, according to my counselor it's going to take 3 years to finish my undergraduate. Need some input if that's true!

Thanks in advance.

Davis doesn’t take Spring transfers…?

You only have to finish the classes listed on ASSIST. Even if they’re listed as being required as graduation requirements for Davis on their website, you don’t actually have to complete them until you actually go to Davis. Nobody can give you an actual “chance” of being rejected just based on these factors alone, but required classes rank really highly in admission factors for transfers.

As for taking 3 years to graduate, it really depends on how hard you’re willing to work, how many classes you take a quarter, and if you’re willing to take Summer Classes to graduate faster. It also depends on whether or not you actually get your classes as well.

You’re a freshman where? A local community collee, or at 4 year?

I’m a freshman computer science major at a ccc as well and yeah I believe its going to take 3 years. Well it also depends on your target school and the math you are currently in. Davis requires more math than a college like Santa Cruz does, so unless you are in calc 1 already it will most likely take 3 years. But that is perfectly normal for ccc transfers so its nothing to worry about.

Although you can move up in math classes quicker if you take winter/summer sessions, but those are shorter and tougher so your gpa might suffer. But anything is possible with hard work.

I’m currently a CCC student, De Anza college. The way I see it I’ll be done with Calc 1D(calc 4) by the end of 2015 summer and on assist.org it states that I need MATH 2B. So I’ll be missing one pre-req, i’m worried that they’ll reject me due to that. Is missing one math pre-req a deal breaker?

I’m going to assume that by computer science b.s. you mean computer science in the college of letters and science. Anyways I guess this is the website:

[UC Davis : Majors](http://admissions.ucdavis.edu/majors/major_view.cfm?major=lcsi)

but when clicking in additional transfer requirements, it goes to the College of Engineering requirements page so I don’t know. Your best bet is to email the major adviser and ask.

Whenever it comes to something as important as prerequisites, you should always contact a major rep or your counselor. They get paid money to answer these kind of questions.

And don’t worry about taking 3 years at CC. I applied to davis as well and it took 3 years because the prerequisites for my major are insane. More work than even Berkeley, UCLA, and SD.

Wait wait wait hold on here. You need to be sophomore level to apply and junior level to transfer to a UC. Davis doesn’t do spring quarter transfers, only fall quarter. So if last Fall (Fall 2012) was your first quarter at community college, and you want to be into Davis in Fall 2015, then you would be applying Fall of 2014. This gives you (not including Fall 2012/Winter 2013, and including summer quarters) 9 quarters to finish your 4 math classes. Can’t you just start the first one in the series earlier?
