Will UC System Admit More OOS?

Here you go:

[University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/)

Please note that Statfinder is getting a little outdated now. I believe the last year that they have data for is 2009. Last year’s data is not there, nor will this year have data there. Too bad with respect to tracking OOS, because it seems like the real push for increasing OOS has come in just the past couple of years. I guess the funding for the project dried up.

Busdriver: We cross-posted here.

Blue, for our highschool USC and UCLA acceptance GPA is neck to neck, more like .01 difference, not a huge difference. The GC also verifies the GPA of accepted student, not just by what the student reports.
BTW, UC Statfinder is very outdated. Right now it only has data up to 2009.

^^Statfinder may be “outdated” but it is the ONLY data that exists. Everything else is pure speculation (including mine). :)

btw: it’s surprising that your HS has similar gpa’s for 'SC and UCLA since 'SC is known to accept a much lower gpa for high test scores. We have kids at our HS who are a ~3.5, with few honors/APs, but a 2200, that are accepted to USC, and are even rejected by the mid-tier UCs.

Hi OlympicLady. I think it is not just N Cal kids, many S Cal kids too. My son is a S Cal kid. Most students in his graduating class who were accepted to both UCLA and CAL ended up picking UCLA. I can’t say much for these other kids, but for my son his main reasons included a reputable dept in his major, sunny whether, beaches, and girls.

HappyUCDad: First week at UC - Direct quote from son “Mom I have never been around so many smart AND beautiful girls!” Me-speechless…“great honey”. :)
