Will anyone be kind enough to read my SOP and give me advice on the material and structure of it. Its still a rough draft so I understand there will be a lot of grammatical errors but I was wanting to know more so of how competitive the material i am presenting is and if theres anything i can add or subtract to it. I will greatly appreciate any volunteers, please PM if you would like to read my SOP.

If I were you, I wouldn’t even think of doing this until you’re well into your senior thesis project… meaning the fall. Enjoy your free time and just read up the literature in your field so you can be informed of all the issues that you will address in your SOP.

I agree completely with ticklemepink. It’s great that you started so early with a draft, but I guarantee if you bury it now and dig it back up in the summer, you will probably want to scrap the whole thing. Why don’t you put it away for now and take it out at critical junctures (i.e. every time you add something to your CV, or become newly impassioned about something in your field) and add to it. I only started asking people to read my SOP after I was pretty sure that I wouldn’t be adding anything huge to it- this was in late fall (my deadlines were December-ish).
