Anyone know William Hung's GPA? Did he ever graduate?

He dropped out to pursue a music career.

ROFL! Thats the greatest thing I have ever heard!

Why would William Hung leave a prestigious engineering university? He could've had a lucrative and stable career as a civil engineer making upwards of 50k a year.

Props to William. He actually took a risk and broke the Asian mold.

I33twArR10r: Hahaha...he's riding on the fame of it and is making more money right now than staying in school...if he plays his cards right, he can save and what not; plus, you can always apply for re-admission.

Asiaknight: Asian mold? Just because Asians go into engineering doesn't mean it's a mold. Ever thought it is their passion? Or something they enjoy doing?

I am so glad William Hung hasn't been seen on TV lately. I am sorry to look at this through the prism of race. I am just tired of seeing Asians playing silly roles on TV/movies--can't sing, can't act, unattractive (why is it Hollywood seems to like using the ugly ones?), broken English, few lines (ever seen Ocean Twelve? That Chinese guy didn't even have a line and was completely useless)...etc.

William Hung have perfect english because he was raised in AMERICA. He got accepted to Berkeley , the BEST school in AMERICA. I bet his SAT's was 1600 or very high.

Gotta agree with Sam Lee, all the asian males you see on TV are short, wimpy, unattractive socially inept geeks, while all the asian females you see are beautiful, exotic, and always end up with the white guy.

That has pretty much killed my respect for Hollywood.

While William Hung breaks the stereotype that all asian males are only fit as doctors/engineers/scientists, he perpetuates another negative stereotype at the same time.

Don't knock William for breaking the stereotype. Like everyone else, Asians have to start somewhere. Take some singing lessons, grab a microphone, and take it to the next level. He's inspired me not to just rely on my good looks, immense talent, brilliant mind and winning personality. I might take up ping pong. Did you see that Americans (Asian descent) won the 2005 badminton championships? Don't take everything so seriously. As long as people are good humans let them have some fun without worrying how others judge them.

I read some of the other posts. Maybe William wasn't such a roll model. Well, he's still got his singing career:>)

I heard William Hung has got multiple record deals and is trying to break the stereotypes of all Asians being engineers by singing.

On topic:
Does anyone know William Hung's GPA? I'm guessing its 3.5 or very high because he got into UCB.

...what is the world coming to if we call what William Hung is doing "singing" or "music"? (Sorry, I don't mean any offense to William Hung fans, if there are any here in CC)

Why wouldn't you call it singing or music if William Hung has multiple record contracts and sold millions of his records to fans all around the world.

William Hung even made multiple movies in Asia.

CDN_dancer: Diamonda Galass would not be considered a singer to most, but she is much respected by the Greek community for her music. It's personal tastes. Just because Hung doesn't necessarily sing like a blue jay doesn't mean that it requires a "what is the world coming to..." beginning.
