@aspiringwmgirl Good luck with the ACT! I’ve only taken the SAT (twice) haha.

Quick question on counselor’s secondary school report and recommendation. Are these located on the common app site. I see the document school report on the common app website, but i’m not sure if the counselor’s secondary school report and recommendation letters are addition materials for the application.

Anyone??

@jjjj16 I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking but when you add your counselor on Common App, then all of the documents will be made available to your counselor that way.

ok, thanks.

I will be taking the SAT this saturday and then submitting my ED application when the scores are available (should be ready to go October 28). Other than that, I have everything completed! :)

@hillsnow Good luck on your SAT!

I plan to submit my application at the beginning of next week. My counselor has already sent my transcripts and I submitted my standardized test scores over the summer. It feels pretty great to almost be completely done with the process.

I just submitted my application! Fingers crossed.

Ahh I love this I’ve been looking for one of these!! I applied like two weeks ago… really excited but nervous to find out in December. Are any of you guys out of state?

I’m out of state! All that’s left for me to do is run through everything one last time and hit submit!

@daniil450 I’m OOS too! I’m glad I found this page because I’ve been dying to talk to other w&m ED people! What do you guys think about the stereotype that a lot of w&m students are weird or not social?

@0blondie2 I visited during my spring break last year and most everyone I met was glad to talk to me about their classes! I think the stereotype is true to an extent, but not in a negative way. Everyone was very unique but certainly welcoming and engaging!

@daniil450 same I visited beginning of October and everyone was so friendly! I think my favorite thing about w&m is that the sense of community felt really genuine and true

I saw this and thought it would be a great way to meet some of my potential classmates, great idea! I submitted my ED application on Thursday, and am really nervous but excited. I am an out-of-state female, and my test scores aren’t anything special, but I go to one of the most competitive schools in the city and get good grades, did an interview that I think went well, and am hoping that my essays will be well-received. Fingers and toes are crossed for everyone :)

I am a gap year student and will be in the Class of 2019, so I’m rooting for you all!

@1sparkle2 If you don’t mind me asking, why did you take a year off?

@ribbonroad224 this was so smart to make this! And @wm2019 I’m right there with you about the scores and type of school! I’m glad that we find out the first week of December, some of my friends don’t hear from their schools until late into the month which would drive me crazy

Is the William and Mary Scholar Award limited to a certain statistic (in terms of GPA and SAT) or income (for example, lower income families) bracket?

@jjjj16 Assuming that you’re talking about the Monroe Scholar Program, the official W&M Admission account psoted this on a post about Monroe: "There are not cut and try criteria for the Monroe Scholarship however, as noted, it’s awarded to the top applicants in our pool based primarily on academic merits (and it’s about 5-7% of the admits are offered the Monroe Scholarship, not 10-15%). Generally speaking, those awarded Monroe will have taken very rigorous classes throughout high school, they will be at or near the very top of their graduating class, and they will have a 1470 or higher on the SAT (that equates to a 33 on the ACT). Again, these are not hard and fast cut-offs, they are merely parameters. We also look for high levels of intellectual curiosity and any research inclination on the part of the student as the Monroe Scholarship is research funding.

We have no set ratios for how many EDs, IS, or OOS students get the Monroe Award. It is equally open to all cohorts of our applicant pool."

@daniil450 Thanks. But I was refer to the scholarship about diversity and overcoming adversity.
