I found the community at William & Mary to be extremely welcoming and exactly the kind of atmosphere I want in a school. When I shadowed there last fall, the students I encountered all seemed very genuine and friendly. Academics are important there but not so much that everyone is cutthroat and constantly studying. Rather, there are people there with whom you can have intellectual conversations. If by social life you mean giant party scene, then W&M does not have that, but I personally don’t like that sort of thing anyway.

@1sparkle2 thanks! I’m not into the giant party scene either. Just as long as the atmosphere is good spirited, intellectual, and not boring I’m good!

Have all of you that already applied received emails from the college confirming that they received your application? I got mine from the common app but still haven’t from the college so I’m worried because it’ll be three weeks this Saturday!

@0blondie2 I got mine earlier today and submitted less than 24 hours ago. Definitely check your spam folder or deleted emails. If that fails, it can’t hurt to shoot the Admissions Office an email asking to resend the confirmation.

@daniil450 I did the blog thing and I called them with my college counselor. they received my application and sent me an email on the 22nd but they don’t know why I didn’t get it. I’m all good though haha I just have to wait for the second email that takes a short while!

@ribbonroad224 I’m in A.B
I love the class/teacher/subject so much, but I’m getting a B and I have As in all my other classes so it’s so stressful!

@0blondie2 if we go there we are becoming roommates. You literally just described me when u described you. I’m kind of shy in new situations and my friends are all from the shy-ish/crosscountryteam/AP track, but I really do love being around people once I get to know themm and I want to have fun in college. I’m just not meant for the big 10 frat scene.

@Runnergirl76 my four APs are English lit, physics 2, psych, and Latin, I have to be in regular calc (bc only 4 APs max) and my electives are adv ceramics and a religion course. I’m also in a program that allows select seniors to mentor freshmen with their writing! Hahah yess we should that’s exactly me!

@Runnergirl76 @0blondie2 I’m just like you guys! I don’t want to have the college experience where you party a ton, but I want to meet a lot of people and try new things. I can be shy when there are a lot of people around, but I’m chatty around people I know well. Let’s get a triple :)
