@MrTongueTie A lot. Lol
what other schools are you guys thinking of?
@crayasian I also applied to MIT and Caltech. Planning to apply to W&M, Wash U, CMC, Amherst, and Dartmouth if I don’t get into Williams.
I ED’ed as well. It’s both reassuring and nerve-wracking to know that the decisions will probably come out December 10th (if the folks in this thread are to be trusted).
I applied to Yale
Less than two weeks…jeez. Hard to think that all of our deliberations might come to a close so soon.
the time is going by so quickly… ahhh
Will the admissions department email results or will there be some sort of login required
You should have received an email with a link to your portal when you first applied. This would’ve allowed you to check if all your application materials had been received.
Whenever they release decisions, whether that be a week from today or the 15th, check that same portal for your admission decision.
They also send out letters I believe.
Did you all apply for Williams ED because you… 1. Wanted the acceptance rate boost 2. Missed the November 1st deadline for other schools 3. Genuinely felt that Williams was your favorite school 4. Some combination of the previous three or 5. For another reason?
I chose Williams because I wanted to go there just as much as my other 3 top picks but it had a later ED date. I also wanted the acceptance boost at first but have since learned that it’s almost nonexistent lol.
Same. At some point it got so hard for me to differentiate between my top 5, even by visiting. But unlike other schools I visited/was looking at, Williams was the only one that I (honestly) couldn’t find something I didn’t like about it.
i actually haven’t visited any schools yet… Is that important? should i have visited before applying?
Yeah i would have suggested that you visited at least your ED school before applying since its binding, especially Williams since it is a pretty obscure school location wise. But you should be okay, seems like everyone really loves it.
hopefully there’s still a LITTLE bit of acceptance rate boost? @Shoumei could you explain why its nonexistent exactly?
Thanks!
@crayasian from what I’ve read on the forum, if you aren’t a legacy (I’m not) or an athlete (I’m not) then your chances are about the same as regular application people. Of course that’s just what I’ve read on this site and I chose to believe it.
What are your guys’ test scores? Did you take the ACT, SAT, or both?
@MrTongueTie how about you?
