@crayasian That’s a great score! It definitely won’t hurt you. What about the SAT II’s? And I took the ACT and got a 35.
Biology: 800, Lit: 790
@MrTongueTie thanks! 35 is pretty amazing too!
Cool! I have Bio M: 730 and Math II: 790.
my GPA is a bit of a weakness though - not completely awful but its definitely not up to Williams’ standards.
This beautiful school is definitely a reach for me but we’ll see what happens in 5 days!!!
I hope to see you all there
Where are you all from?
& who’d you write about for your supp?
What is your GPA? Do you show improvement, and have you taken very rigorous courses? Those are very important things they will consider. I am from Washington State! I wrote about Karl Marx.
My school limits the number of APs I can take, so I’ve maxed out on them. I show some improvement, definitely from freshman year, but it’s not as drastic as a change as I wish it was…a 3.7
I’m applying as a US citizen in an international school.
Statistically speaking, my chances are pretty low - hopefully my essays & ECs can help me out
@crayasian Have you gotten good scores on the AP’s you’ve taken? That’s important. And being an international can be hard, but definitely not impossible. I’d say EC’s and essays are the most important part of your application.
statistically speaking, my chances don’t exist. However! I won’t give up, I believe in myself.
@MrTongueTie I have solid AP scores (mostly 5s, one or two fours I think) & I’m not applying as international! Since I’m from the US (13 years in the states), I’m applying as though I’m OOS!
We’ll see what happens, thank you for the encouragement!
@Shoumei I highly doubt that if you applied to Yale as well ahahahaha
@crayasian lol as much as I love the boost that gave my ego, the truth is that anyone can apply anywhere. I’m too embarrassed by the other things I’ve seen on here to tell my actual scores… I was homeschooled, so I never took any APs and I passed up the chance of taking college courses because of poor decision-making skills. It’s pretty incomprehensible to me as to how everyone on CC was able to accomplish all these things. Honestly all I can hope for is that God was writing my essays for me lol. BUT that being said, I firmly believe that I can do well wherever I go, and that if Williams is the place for me, then I will get accepted. To be honest, I’m rooting for you guys that you’ll get accepted.
@Shoumei I love your perspective! I think I need to find my peace with that as well. CC can be really intimidating, I tend to stress out the more I read - for some reason, I can’t stop reading though aha. Thank you & it’d be pretty awesome if all of us ended up there together
T-minus 5 days, my decision comes out on my birthday LOL.
@crayasian I’m in a really weird position where I’ve accepted whatever my fate will be, yet still super anxious lol. I keep refreshing my notifications and reading the boards here too. Also that would be like the best birthday present!
@Shoumei it’ll be coming out in the morning for me, so I probably won’t be able to sleep the night before. I also have a final that day so…
Best birthday present or worst day ever, we’ll see!
Same, it’s nice to know we’re all in this together.
I’m also home schooled! How 'bout that. I wonder how many home schoolers are in the ED pool? I can’t imagine more than a handful.
@DressingIron whoa that’s awesome!! Yeah I’d imagine there aren’t that many.
I am hounding this forum as well, haha. Funny you weird home school kiddos are on here I like the perspectives y’all are taking to this process, though. Ultimately where one goes for undergraduate education matters little in the grand scheme of life.
Hi everyone! I too am applying E.D. but I’m coming from a slightly different position. As both a legacy and an athletic recruit, I’m feeling hopeful about my chances.
Anyone reading this thread and considering Williams, I truly suggest that you visit Williams and/or spend an overnight, which they’ll gladly set up for you.
Good luck to everyone!
@cmamidwpb whoa nice! What sport?
