Williams Overnight : )

Well, I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon for Williamstown to do my overnight visit... I'm really excited : ) Anything in particular I should do/see/experience specific to Williams?

S just finished his recruiting weekend at Williams. He stayed on campus for 2 nights and I was at a motel. Williams is wonderful. Check out the science buildings and the new performing arts building. Spring Street has some shops and the Williams apparel store. Take a campus tour.
We were very impressed with the depth of the coaching staff and with how happy all the students appear. My son was most impressed with the juicer in the snack bar. We got to meet the president, Morty Shapiro, this morning. He is reason enough to attend Williams. We had perfect weather, although it felt a little chilly to us. It is truly a beautiful setting.

If you are only remotely interested in art, I would still suggest visiting the Clark Art Institute - wonderful collection!

How'd it go?

It was a very informative visit... Williams is an incredible place, and I met some awesome people (one kid owns his own record label). I went on a brilliant fall day, and the campus was just beautiful. It really felt like a close-knit community, especially within the entries, and the people I met really seemed to love their school. All this considered, however, I've decided that it's not the place for me-- it was very much like the town I've grown up in, and I'd like to experience something different for college. So, only one more overnight left, and then I'll decide : )
