Winter 2012 Transfer Thread

You receive email? Or you found from housing sites?

North quad as well!!!

Man I want north quad! You guys are finding this out through email I’m assuming? I think a lot of decisions will be released this week

Yeah I got an email on firday. I called the housing office earlier in the week and they said that decisions will continue to be sent out throughout the next two weeks

So I just need to freakin vent. So I got my room assignment, and like any normal person would do, I emailed my future roommates and added them on FB. I have gotten no response from either mean of communication. Wow. I’m ****ed. You would think I would’ve gotten something by now. I don’t want to be pushy but I want to say something else to them… thoughts?

How long has it been? Maybe they don’t go on the internet that often? (I know that is a really looooow probability but still possible)

@Mechiganboy, it’s not that big of a deal. Some people never use their FBs. I thought one of my current roommates, I had a randy put into my room, was a dbag because he didn’t accept my friend request but it just turned out he never used his FB and hadn’t been on in about 8 months.

I saw that a lot of ppl are looking for housing at umich. Right now I’m living in Coman Baits 2, coman is the mail place, has a computer lab downstairs, laundry place, lounge with piano and plasma tv and a study room and I’m looking for someone to reassign my room. I live in a single with bath that’s shared with one other girl. If you live close you can come and have a look, I’m trying to get out because my financial got bad and it’s too expensive to live in a single for me. Reply if your interested pls.

@ecicayc11, I doubt you’ll get any takers here because let’s face it, no one wants North Campus. There are still a bunch of people in South and West Quad trying to get out of their rooms so it’s going to be difficult for you to find a taker.

@anthonyxy21, yes it is north campus but it’s more convenient for engineers and music majors. also it’s more quiet than south and west quad for those who wanna concentrate in school. also, I’m just trying to help those out who would like to get housing and i would love to continue to live here if I could…

How long will it take to ride shuttle from north campus to main?

@SH, 15-20 minutes if I remember correctly. What street will your son live on?

Hi John, he is still waiting for assignment. I noticed two of the new transfer are assigned to north, so I assume he will also.

@SHSurprise, If you mean me and mechiganboy, we were assigned to North Quad, not North Campus. We’re still on Central Campus, just the northern edge of it.

Just found out I was assigned to Burseley, north campus. Sigh…Does anyone know how long it would take to go to the central campus by bus? Thanx.

@zyrryan- Bursley to CC little is about 15 minutes but usually by the time the bus gets to Bursley, it’s out of seats…

@ericayc11- Thank you for answering. I guess this is gonna suck. Just to make sure, when you say out of seats, what should I do? Do I need to wait until some bus with seats comes or there is usually room left on bus for standing? BYW, is it possible to walk to cc or other bus stops to be sure to get to class on time?

@zyrryan- depending on what time you’re trying to get on the bus. usually there would be no seat to sit but you can still stand, and if you don’t try to get on fast then there wont be a place to stand either so you’ll just have to wait for another bus. but u can get on the opposite stop if u have time and get on the bus to go to baits 2 then 1 to drop off the people, then baits 2 again and back to bursley and central.

Anthony, thx. Just found out my S is assigned to Stockwell. Is this going to be a challenge to central?

@zyrryan, on the bright side, I hear from my friends that Bursley’s dining hall is really good.
