Winter 2015 Transfer

My application is now showing the green circle (complete) but my status still hasn’t changed from “application received”

Same here, all transcripts received status and green circle student center. Please post if you have provisional admit status when you get it!

Dropped off my transcripts at the last minute on Monday…they gave me a receipt (one of the student workers made me fill it out, then one of the supervisors was like “hey, why are you filling your own receipt?”). So she filled it out for me.

Are the freshman deadlines earlier for transfer students? That might explain the earlier orientation time at the end of October, but i don’t know.

Reading the 2013 thread a lot of people’s acceptance timelines varied. Some right at the beginning of October and others around the 3rd week of the month so I guess we just have to keep patient and optimistic because the timelines are so all over the place.

So I don’t know how many of you have your AS-T or AA-T but I came across some info on it. Since Cal Poly is impacted at the campus level, but all of us transferring this winter could only apply to the non-impacted programs, this is how it effects your admission.

For local applicants (Mt SAC and Citrus)- Priority Admission

For non-local applicants- 0.20 GPA boost for supplementary GPA requirements.

I don’t know if that helps anyone, but it made me feel a little better about my chances with the extra boost.

I wonder if Fall applicants and incoming freshman have to wait this long. I feel like a second class student! I’d be even more upset had I bothered to apply to other schools as well because it sounds like they aren’t making their applicants wait so long for a response…

@dezryth‌ since I was a Fall applicant this past Fall, I can tell you that yes they make them wait this long, except even longer! Most schools were notifying of admissions in February and March where in some cases pomona was doing it end of April. So, this time, the turn around time is a bit shorter because of the close
Proximity to applying and starting but that doesn’t make me anyess anxious.

Anyone?Any news? It supposed to come out the decision recently…

NOPE, and the deadline to register for orientation is the 10th.

Hopefully come Monday they’ll start notifying

That’s weird…cuz last year was more faster…And I know some of my friends are accepted by Long beach or LA…

Hopefully they extend deadlines if they are going to take this long. I just want to know if I got in or not already!

@Albert2210‌ Same here…maybe it starts tomorrow…

So I called the admission office again, and again she said November. Then when I asked why is there an orientation on October 24th, she said that must have been old information. 30 seconds later, “Oh wow, we do have an orientation October 24th!” She then said they might release a few before then. But it seems like they are nowhere near announcing acceptance so don’t get your hopes up to hear back this week… so frustrating!

On one hand, I am starting to think they are telling the truth when they say November but on the other hand, that’s what they said last year and I think it’s what they say to let us know, that everyone should hear by November and if you don’t you probably aren’t getting in. But who knows, gotta keep waiting I guess.

I called admissions this morning and they said they haven’t been given a date, but that we should be receiving an email about our acceptance within the next week, week and a half. I then asked about orientation dates and she said there was one Oct 24th and Dec. 5th. I’m worried about getting the later date and not being able to get classes. Anyone else know more about this?

I just talked to Orientation Services and the person I spoke with said they’ll continue to let students register after that supposed ‘deadline’ of October 10th. But unsurprisingly she had no idea when admissions would start accepting anyone.

Quick update: As of today 10/7/2014, under Application Status, my status has changed from ‘Application Received’ to ‘Provisional Admit’.
And under Student Center > under the Admissions > My Applications section > I have a green checkmark (for Application Status) which = Admitted.
Nothing under To Do List though. Waiting for when I can make my payment for the ECD, which should be due by 10/10

Congratulations @KenCalPoly84‌ that’s so exciting!! You must be relieved.

@Hbkelly most of the items are moving along as per the unofficial timeline that I posted earlier (except for the ‘provisional admit’ that was estimated for 10/1 and just updated today 10/7), so yes, I am about to head out on an Ensenada cruise this Friday, and it would suck if I had to keep thinking about Cal Poly status updates. Thank you Hbkelly and good luck. Hopefully, you and others get their update today as well.
