My major is Enironmental Science and Terrestrial Resource Management. It’s an open major too.
Anyone else heard anything?
Does anyone know if they are updating people in waves? Like would they update the status for only a group of people yesterday and then another next week or something like that? Or should it be updated for everyone who’s accepted?
I have 3.75 and 90+ credits from Cascadia community college and put open major as my intended. Kind of freaking out hearing that everyone’s status is updated
Have any of you done your research? Did you look up the thread from last year? Acceptances were sent out continuously even into the first portion of December. I called admissions this past monday and they said they would start sending acceptances this week (which apparently started Tuesday) until December. There is no formula, no way you can find out if you got in, you just have to wait. I will tell you a little about myself, I was diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome at age 7 (no not where people cuss, that is only in 3% of cases) and it causes me to twitch fairly often. Included with my Tourette’s is Adhd, Ocd, and Anxiety disorder (comorbid disorders). I am told everyday by my parents and loved ones not to worry (my anxiety is fairly bad) and to “Control what you can control. You cannot change what has already happened.” I wrote about that in my essay, as my GPA is a 3.4, I am an OOS transfer, I have my Associates, and I have most of my prereqs done. I have been recruited by the hockey team (yes we have one), and my life goal is to help those afflicted such as I have been. I applied for Microbiology (non impacted) and am hopeful. I have also had multiple medical internships in regards to helping those with Tourette’s and am a volunteer and member in the Tourette’s Association of America. I wrote about all this in my essay because UW prides itself on a holistic approach, and as my GPA isn’t the strongest, both ADHD (real adhd, diagnosed for many years in a row and not just an independent claim) and Tourette’s are both listed under the college learning disabilities list, and therefore are supposed to help with a lesser gpa. Also, if I got rid of my first spring semester I would have a 3.6, and I tanked that semester because I quit taking all medications permanently. Even with all my mental complications and circumstances, I can understand that we just have to wait. Worrying will not help us get in or change a decision, rather it will just make us miserable. So with that being said, good luck to all, and no hard feelings no matter which way this goes. BUT, if I do not get in I will be extremely upset as last year many people got accepted with a 3.2 and didn’t have jack for extra curriculars or anything special. Also, I feel as though my circumstances are extremely rare, and I have done a fair job of coping with a lifetime of ridicule and misery from my disorder, so a 3.4 as a Microbio major currently… even if I am denied I am pretty happy with myself regardless. Hope you all can find some comfort in this message! From the kid with an anxiety disorder telling you… well… don’t worry.
Do you know how they reject people? Cause i dont understand.
@LP117343 when i got rejected in high school, they only notified me through the transcript
They email for rejected or waitlisted
@Hockey1School2 … Thank you for sharing! You should be proud of where you are! If you aren’t accepted then it was their mistake and there’s somewhere better for you!
When I applied to the UW as a freshman i had graduated with my AA before I graduated high school and I also had 3.8 college gpa (in state community college) and then I was waitlisted and rejected. That proves that if someone here isn’t accepted it might not be that they arent qualified. Do NOT let it make you feel bad about yourself because it honestly doesnt say anything about how much you’ve accomplished.
Also, the fact that they don’t notify us all at the same time is inequitable because it doesn’t give everyone the same amount of time to pay the fee/register for classes… Its totally an unequal and unfair system…
Sorry for the rant
does anyone knows if all the acceptance letters come first ? Or is it random as to when rejection and acceptance letters come?
I mean rejection email.
@LP117343 they send it in random waves. So for example they send a group acceptance letters at the beginning of the week or something, and then a group of rejectings in the weekend.
Has anyone been rejected yet?
I called today and they said they would try to notify everyone by this week who is accepted but they might take until the end of the month.
Has everyone checked their unofficial transcript? For those accepted, did it show your SID (unofficial transcript trick) before your status updated? Or have they fixed that yet?
Are they sending it daily? Honestly, i think on December is when we might hear back. The process is so random. Also, don’t worry about it too much. I hear they have like 3 people read your app. IT’s better to get nothing from UW atm as an email means you’re rejected/wait-listed.
So they tell everyone who’s accepted now and send rejections in December? that’s terrifying!!
Last years transfers got accepted in December. It’s random
I know. the office of admissions said they would get them out by the end of this month but they have never really been consistent with their information to be honest haha. I’m going to call again later
Did anyone apply to the other campuses? Or to a diff university (not just the UWs)?
